Job, John Z.
of Jackson passed away peacefully surrounded by his family, at Arbor Woods Assisted Living on Sunday, October 13, 2019, at the age of 88. He is one of thirteen children born to Michael and Anna Job on June 22, 1931. He is survived by his loving wife Dee (Dolores) and by his devoted children; Jackie (Bruce) Bobb, John (Mary Ellen), Lisa (Robert) Stevens, Anne (Michael) Powell, Nancy (Mike) Lannert; step-daughter Denise Steiner; his brother Joe (Alicia) and sister Stella Formella; 11 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and his long-time friend Tom (Mardi) Mallak. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife Margaret A., siblings Stanley, Louis (Lottie), Rose, Mary (Walt) Frederick, Helen (Alex) Bidol, Jennie (Ted) Szczesny, Ann (Bernie) Bazylewicz, Harry, Mike (Pat) Job, Ed (Marilyn).
John was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. After graduating from St. John's High School, John immediately began working at Consumers Power Company. He then served in the U. S. Marine Corps from February 1952 to February 1954 and served as a reservist for several years. He returned to Consumers Power Company where he worked in the gas service department for most of his 50 years with them. He was a life-long member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and a member of the St. Joseph Men's Club. He was one of many Job family members who worked many hours to make the annual St. Joseph Polish Festival a success for the Jackson Community.
Mr. Job is at the Desnoyer Funeral Home where a prayer service will be held on Thursday, October 17, 2019 at 10:30 AM followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am at St Joseph Oratory at 707 N. Waterloo St., Jackson, Michigan with Fr. James Shaver officiating. Interment will follow at St. John's Catholic Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, October 16 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm and 6:00 to 8:00 pm with a Rosary Service at 7:00 PM.
Our family wants to thank the Arbor Woods Assisted Living caregivers, HFAH Ultrasound/IR Team, HFAH Outpatient IV Team and HFAH Homecare & Hospice for all of their loving care of John and our family.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Joseph Oratory/St. John The Evangelist Catholic Church or Lumen Christi Catholic School.
