Conley, John R.

Of Jackson, passed away on Saturday, October 23, 2021 at the age of 79 years. John was born on April 28, 1942 in Lafayette, Indiana. He was preceded in death by his parents Helena and Joseph Conley and his sisters and brothers in law Rose (Russ) Sarrine and Helen (Ted) Wozniak. John is survived by his sister Alice Adams and brother Joe (Connie) Conley as well as 27 nieces and nephews, 19 great nieces and nephews, 24 great-great nieces and nephews and his special four-legged sweetie "Nina". John graduated from St. Mary High School and Jackson College. He retired from the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) as Territory Manager after 20 years of dedicated service. John was an active member of Our Lady of Fatima Church in Michigan Center where he served on the Parish Council, was an Usher and Extraordinary Minister. He was a Third Degree Member and Treasurer of the Knights of Columbus Assembly 2188, President of the Jackson Jaycees where he was awarded JCI Senator #21887, Vice President of the Michigan Jaycees, Vice President of the Napoleon School Board, and Treasurer of the Beginning Experience Program. John was a volunteer at disAbility Connections, Henry Ford Allegiance Health where he served on the Henry Ford Allegiance Volunteer Board and several other committees. He thoroughly enjoyed helping people and giving back to his community in any way possible. John enjoyed playing Euchre, listening to talk radio and Fox News to keep up with politics. He was an early morning walker at Jackson Crossing where he walked over 8,000 miles.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, October 29, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church with Fr. Satheesh Alphonse, SdC officiating. Cremation will follow the Funeral Mass and at John's request his cremains will be interred above his father's grave at St. John's Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Our Lady of Fatima Church on Friday from 10:00 to 10:45 AM with a Rosary Service at 10:45 AM.

In lieu of flowers John wished that contributions be made to Our Lady of Fatima Church, disAbility Connections, Inc of Jackson or the Henry Ford Allegiance Health Foundation.
