Stellingworth, Jean E.
Age 97, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 16, 2016. Jean was born on January 16, 1919 to Eugene and Thursa Slowey in Albion, Michigan. Jean is survived by her daughters, Ann (Joe) Rumler and Mary (Michael) O'Neil; grandchildren, John (Kim) Rumler, Katie (Joe) Ream, Julie (Kevin) Rogers, and Sean (Magen) O'Neil; great grandchildren, Keegan, Carter, Michael, Brendan, Kayla, Karma, Beckett, Lainey, and Grayson; sister, Marie Stellingworth; and special nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her husband, John A. Stellingworth; parents; sister, Loretta (Leon) Arey; brothers-in-law Hugh Stellingworth and Michael (Barbara) Stellingworth; and sisters-in-law Zita Cimock and Martha Chmielewski.
Jean graduated from Albion College and retired from teaching with Jackson Public Schools in 1982. She was a member of Queen's Parish for over 60 years.
The family wishes to thank the dedicated staff at the Legends at Legacy and Southern Care Hospice Group for their care and compassion during her final days.
According to her wishes, cremation has taken place. A family gathering will be held on Saturday, October 22 at Queen of the Miraculous Medal Catholic Church at 9:30 to 10:30 AM followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM with Fr. Timothy MacDonald officiating. Private internment will be at St. John's Cemetery.
