Gauthier, Jean Lois
Of Rives Junction, Michigan passed away on Sunday, December 28, 2025 at home under the loving care of her family at the age of 91 years. She is survived by her children, Ken Gauthier, Janet Burley, Jackie (Chuck) Garrison, Karen (Jeff) Lin, Sharon (Rob Bendik) Mills, Lorrie Bedore, and Lynn Taylor; also Jim Mills and Rick Bedore; her beloved cat, Mini; 22 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; and her sister, Lila Wencel. She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Gerald; her parents, Hawley and Florence Gallaway; her aunt and uncle who raised her, Everett and Mina Bailey; daughter-in-law, Tina Gauthier; and sons-in-law, Roger Burley and Brian Watson.
Jean grew up in Dexter and graduated from Dexter High School. She raised her seven children and then went to work for Knapps and Fields Department Stores. Gerald and Jean loved traveling all over and made several friends along the way. She did volunteer work for Catholic Charities. Jean was recently baptized in the Catholic Church on December 10.
According to her wishes, cremation has taken place. A private Mass of Christian Burial will be held for family and a Celebration of Jean's Life will take place at a later date.
Instead of sending flowers, contributions to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital would be appreciated.
