Jean A. (Purdy) Blodgett, age 103, passed away peacefully in her Jackson, MI home on May 21, 2022. Born December 17, 1918, she was preceded in death by her husband, John W. Blodgett, son, J. Kevin Blodgett, grandson, Michael (survived by Debra) Blodgett, and sisters, Marguerite McQuillan and Gloria Krenkel. She is survived by her children, Howard Blodgett, Anne Blodgett-Pelton, and Casey (Thomas) Stevens, brother, Walter (Jackie) Purdy, grandchildren, Shelly (Aaron), Darren, Andrew, Kevin, and Nicolas, six great-grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren.

Jean was renowned for her unconditional love and devotion to family and friends, enjoyment of margaritas, quick-witted and determined nature, and signature style, with multiple witnesses having seen her mow the lawn in high heels.

In accordance with Jean's wishes, cremation has taken place, and she will be buried at South Jackson Community Church Cemetery. The celebration of her life will begin Friday, June 10 with a visitation from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. with a Rosary Service at 7:30 p.m. at the Desnoyer Funeral Home. The Mass of Christian Burial, and luncheon will take place the next day, Saturday, June 11 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Fatima Parish with Fr. Satheesh Alphonse, SdC officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Mass.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to The Salvation Army.
