Blais, Jean Dolores
June 26, 1934 - February 9, 2023
Age 88, of Jackson, Michigan passed away under the loving care and staff at Henry Ford Health ICU Unit on Thursday, February 9, 2023. Jean is survived by her step son, James Joseph (Debra) Blais of Thornton, CO; step daughters, Susan Jean Blais of Littleton, Colorado and Marian Lucille Blais of Madison, WI; 12 grandchildren; many great grandchildren; and daughter-in-law Patti Blais.
Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Allain V. Blais; brother, William James Asher; and two step sons, Allain W. Blais and Richard H. Blais.
Jean loved living in Jackson, Michigan and made many friends through her memberships of the Jackson Civic Art Association, the Great Lakes Pastel Society, Newcomers Club and Michigan Questers Club. Jean studied at the Silvermine School of Art and the Rowayton Art Center both in Connecticut. She was a past Vice President and involved for many years with Resources Unlimited an organization in which artists help the physically challenged to paint and participate in artistic mediums. She has won many awards in both watercolor and pastel. She had also won a Holbein award from the Great Lakes Pastel Society. As an award winning artist, Jean has participated in numerous juried art shows at Ella Sharp Museum, Jackson College, Baker College and at the Jackson District Library.
Jean has inspired many by her vitality, sparkle spirit and spunk. She was strong in her religious beliefs in Jesus Christ and will be sadly missed by all.
According to her wishes, cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, March 11, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Arbor Grove Congregational Church, 2621 McCain Road, Jackson with Reverend Jerry Turner officiating.
The family will receive friends at the Arbor Grove Congregational Church on Saturday, March 11 from 10:00 to 11:00 AM.

In lieu of sending flowers, contributions may be made to the Jackson Civic Art Association.
