JANET MARY SMITH (BLALOCK)
April 3, 1946 – December 25, 2023

Janet Mary Smith (Blalock) passed away on Monday, December 25, 2023 at the age of 77.

Janet was born April 3, 1946 in Norfolk, Virginia to Donald and Rita Blalock. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and best friend to so many. While hosting at Cracker-Barrel, she befriended so many through her many years there, specifically Dave Toops and Cathy Haydo.

She had a natural gift of nurturing and caring for everyone she came in contact with, even when she needed it herself. Her children feel truly blessed that she was their mom, an excellent example to follow of a life well lived, giving and caring for others.

Janet was preceded in death by her parents (Donald and Rita) and 2 sisters (Judy and Jerrie); and is survived and will be greatly missed by her children, sons Kenneth, Richard (Susan) and daughter Theresa; sisters Joyce (John), June (Tim), Joan, Jackie (Arne), her brother Don (Chris); grandchildren Christopher, Kenny, Justin, Jordan, Nikki, Phillip, Alyssa; 9 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

There will be a Celebration of Life to be announced at a later date.
