Jane Karazija (June 24,1933 - September 5, 2022) was born in Ukmerge, Lithuania, and came to the United States in her teens, along with her mother and sister. After graduating from high school, she attended a business school and did secretarial work in downtown Chicago. She belonged to the Lithuanian choir "Dainava", with whom she was able to perform at Carnegie Hall in New York City.
Jane married Arvin Karazija in 1956, and they had two children. The family moved to the suburb of Oak Forest in 1967. In the early 1970's, Jane began working for KMart in Tinley Park IL, at first on the main floor, but later as a pharmacy tech, retiring around 2002. She moved to Jackson MI in 2003 to be closer to her daughter and family.
Jane's family was her greatest love. She enjoyed reading books and listening to beautiful music. She also loved traveling, camping, skiing, and golf, and pursued many creative endeavors such as gardening, sewing, crocheting, and oil painting.
