Wheaton, James Warren
71, of Jonesville, a life-long resident of the Jackson area, passed away Saturday, April 10, 2010, at Hillsdale Community Health Center. Jim was born Feb. 14, 1939, in Jackson. He married Sharon Ann Playford, who survives, on Sept. 30, 1961. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Archie and Thelma Wheaton. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two children, Bob (Rene) Wheaton of Jackson and Julie (Randy) Smith of South Lyon; three grandchildren, Jack Wheaton and Addison and Delainey Smith; and his brother, Gerald (Carolyn) Wheaton of El Paso, Texas. Jim was a devoted family man. He spent most of his free time with his children and wife and later treasured playing with his grandchildren. Jim has been cremated, according to his wishes. The family will receive friends at the Desnoyer Funeral Home on Thursday, April 15 from 5–8 PM with a Vigil Service being held at 7:00 PM. Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, April 16 at 11:00 AM at Queen of the Miraculous Medal Catholic Church, 606 S. Wisner St., in Jackson. Reverend Robert McGraw will be the celebrant.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Cascades Humane Society, Jackson, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, or the charity of your choice.
