DRAIN, JAMES F. "SONNY"

Jim Drain passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday at the age of 77. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Carol; their three children, James N. (Donna) Drain, Lori (Jeff) Lowder and Scott (Carol Knight) Drain; eight grandchildren, James M. Drain, Ashley (Zachary) Bishop, Katlyn (Adam) Sayers, Kyle Lowder, Daniel Lowder, Benjamin Lowder, Alexander Drain and Aidan Drain, two great grandchildren, Brooklyn Bishop and Logan Lowder and best known as "Uncle Sonny" to his many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his sister-in-law Betty (Oru) Zimmerman and her family; Judy (Rex) Simons, Nancey Zimmerman, Rick Zimmerman and Randy Zimmerman. He was preceded in death by his parents James Augustus "Gus", Margaret "Tootie" and sisters Audrey Bedore and Gloria "Jean" Rutledge.

Jim was a dedicated family man that gave his time and efforts to his family. He provided life long service to all that came into his life and never asked for anything in return. He was a life long resident of Jackson and worked for 33 years at Jim Winter Buick as a service writer, customer service manager and retiring as manager of all service operations. He served his country as a part of the Army Reserves, was an active member of the Moose Lodge, American Legion Post #29 and Eagles Aerie 612. He bowled in the 700 League for many years. He enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren participate in sporting activities.

He will be greatly missed by all who loved him, by the people who had the opportunity to work with him and the many he served.

The family will receive family and friends at the Desnoyer Funeral Home on Sunday from 2:00 to 6:00 pm and on Monday from 11:00am to 1:00 pm. The funeral service will follow immediately after visitation on Monday at 1:00pm. Interment Woodland Cemetery.
