Mure, James R. "Jim"

Lifetime resident of Jackson, passed away on Monday, June 18, 2018 at the age of 74 years. Survived by his wife of 51 years, Anita; children, Suzanne Mure, Cynthia (Jeffrey) Bieszk, Sarah Hall, William Mure, Mechele (Harold) Levy; grandchildren, Alex, Cecelia, Thomas, Tyler, Elizabeth, and Juniper; brother-in-law, Elwyn "Rabbit" Rider; and several nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents, Emma and William Mure and sisters, Flora Johnson and Vanza Rider.

Jim was a Journeyman for Plumbers and Pipefitter's Local #313 (#333).  He was a longtime employee of the City of Jackson as the Mechanical and Plumbing Inspector. He enjoyed golfing, bowling, NASCAR, and was an avid Detroit Tiger and Michigan State fan. His true joy in life was his family. He was quick with a joke and enjoyed his cigars and beer with his family and friends. Jim never met a stranger he didn't like.

Funeral services will held on Friday, June 22, 2018 at 11:00 AM at St. James Lutheran Church, 4425 South Jackson Road, Jackson, with Pastor Martha Porter-Reid officiating. Cremation will follow the service.

The family will receive friends at the Desnoyer Funeral Home on Thursday, June 21 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 6:00 to 8:00 PM. The family will also receive friends at St. James Lutheran Church on Friday from 10:30 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM.

Instead of sending flowers, contributions the Immanuel Lutheran Church Food Pantry or St. James Lutheran Church would be appreciated.
