James Charles Hutchins

HUTCHINS, JAMES CHARLES

Of Jackson, went home to meet his Father on Friday, December 31, 2010 age 68 years. He was born the son of Charlotte Marie (Hutchins) Chamberlain and Charles Elwood Hutchins on December 13, 1942. James was raised by Howard Chamberlain. He was a star football player for St. Mary's during his high school years. He graduated January 31, 1965 from Jackson Junior College. James proudly served in the United States Army and received an honorable discharge on March 31, 1973. He retired from Consumers Energy in March of 2010 after 42 years of service as an IT Analyst. His love of NASCAR earned him the nickname James "Dale Earnhart" Hutchins among friends and co-workers. He is survived by his two daughters; Laura Marie Allison and Melissa Anne Moore. His three grandsons; Morgan Jacob Scott, Matthew Avery Allison and Marius James Moore and one granddaughter, Maura Lynn Allison. He is also survived by one sister; Peggy Marie Baarns; niece Lisa Ann Marie Baarns; three great nieces; Mercedes Marie Bacon, Desire Marie Banks and Tierra Marie Banks; as well as many other family and friends. Mr. Hutchins is at the Desnoyer Funeral Home. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Queen of the Miraculous Medal Church Wednesday at 1:00 PM. Interment St. John's Cemetery. The Rev. Mathias Thelen officiating.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM with a Rosary at 7:00 PM. The family will also receive friends on Wednesday at Queen's Church from 12:30 to 1:00 PM.
