Hardwick, James Arthur Sr.
of Jackson, passed away on Thursday, January 24, 2019 at the age of 87 years. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and brother. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Cassie; 5 children, Sue (Juris), Mike (Cherlyn), James Jr., Nancy, Tom (Betsy); 11 grandchildren, Kevin, Chad, Chelsea, Jason, Justin, Alyssha, Makoa, Kailee, Andy, Katie, and Sam; 10 great grandchildren, Olivia, Ben, Penelope, Annabelle, Charlotte, Morgan, Selby, Braylon, Carter and Korianna; siblings, Catherine (Pete), Bill (Jan), Charlie (LouAnn), and Carol; sisters-in-law, Julia and Marilyn; brother-in-law, Everett (Lee); and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hiram and Margaret; brothers, Jack and Bob; sisters, Margaret and Mary.
He retired from Goodyear after 34 years of service, and was an Air Force Veteran of the Korean Conflict. In retirement he enjoyed spending time with his family at their home on Lake Huron.
Mr. Hardwick is at the Desnoyer Funeral Home where the family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 29 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM with a Rosary Service at 7:00 PM.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be at Queen of the Miraculous Medal Catholic Church on Wednesday, January 30 at 11:00 AM with Father Timothy MacDonald as the Celebrant. A private interment will take place at St. John's Catholic Cemetery.
The family suggests that, instead of sending flowers, you please consider a memorial donation to Henry Ford Allegiance Hospice Home.
