James Leo Duffy "Duff"
passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends at Henry Ford Allegiance Hospice Home on Saturday, February 2, 2019 at the age of 80.
James is predeceased by his loving wife of 39 years, Jo Anne, parents; Marguerite and James.
James is lovingly remembered by his children; Brian (Terrie), Renee Hastings (Joe), Paula Curtiss (Mark) grandchildren: Patrick (Elizabeth), Collin, Mitchell, Emma Jo, great-grandchildren; Clint, brother; Dan (Joan), sisters; Jeanne Holda and Mary Lynne and many nieces and nephews.
James was born in Jackson, Michigan on November 21, 1938. He graduated from St. John's High School in 1957. He attended Jackson Community College and served in the United States Navy. He worked for the United States Postal Service. He retired from Consumers Energy after 33 years of service.
James enjoyed refereeing, horse racing, sports, was a Wolverine fan, golfing, spending time at Indian Lake and, most assuredly, spending time with his children and grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the Desnoyer Funeral Home on Thursday, February 7 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM with a Rosary Service at 7:00 PM.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church on Friday, February 8 at 11:00 AM with Father Chas Canoy as the Celebrant.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Henry Ford Allegiance Hospice Home. The entire Duffy family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you for the wonderful care provided.
