James Ernest Buchin

of Jackson, passed away at Allegiance Health surrounded by his family on Saturday, January 31, 2015 at the age of 81 years. Survived by his wife of 62 years, Nancy Ann Buchin; one son, Daniel Buchin; three daughters, Cathy (Russ) Peterson, Cindy Dow, and Christy Buchin-Stetler; 20 grandchildren; 40 great grandchildren; one sister, Goldie (John) Leutz; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his sons, James R. And Scott A.; sister, Helen; two brothers; John and George.

James married Nancy Ann Barker on July 5, 1952 at the Resurrection Church in Lansing, MI. He worked for the Department of Corrections from 1964-1990, retiring with the position of the of the Administrative Assistant to the Deputy Warden. He was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church. James loved to golf, bowl, garage sales, wood working, gardening, and going to the casinos. He belonged to the SERA (State Employees Retirement Association) and was a member of the Michigan National Guard. He enjoyed his family, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, February 5 at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church at 10:30 AM with Father Timothy McDonald officiating. Interment at Roseland Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM with a Rosary Service at 7:00 PM at the Desnoyer Funeral Home. The family will also receive friends at the Church on Thursday from 10:00-10:30 AM.
