Brzezinski, James Leonard
Died on Sunday July 10, 2022 at Springcreek Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Adrian. He was born in Adrian, Michigan on July 21, 1950. James is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Mary Ellen Brzezinski; his brother Lawrence Brzezinski and Sister Nancy Dannhauser. He is survived by brothers Theodore (Linda), Kenneth (Mary), Donald (Debbie), Richard (Cara) and Charles (Pat), and his sisters Marjorie (Gail) Smithson and Linda (Tom) Willhoff ; sister-in-law Linda Brzezinski; brother-in-law Ralph Dannhauser; several nieces and nephews. He was an artist who due to seizures was unable to reach his full potential. From birth he had 100 seizures per hour every day of his life. He managed to achieve a Master's Degree in City Planning and a degree in Teaching. He was chosen as Student of the Year at Jackson Community College. He also attended Miami University in Ohio and both Eastern Michigan and Western Michigan Universities. The principal in Springboro, Ohio said that Jim was the best teacher in his employ while he was teaching. The principal said that while Jim was in the classroom he knew the students were learning. Severe seizures limited James after his return to Jackson. He ran Cascade Pottery and sold flowers and Artwork from there. His last few year were spent in a group home, where he began working on art after 15 year layoff.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be on Friday, July 15 at 1:30 PM at Queen of the Miraculous Medal Catholic Church with Father Timothy MacDonald as the celebrant. Interment will take place at St. John's Catholic Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Friday, July 15 at the church before the Mass from 1–1:30 PM.
Those who wish may make a contribution to Lumen Christi Catholic Schools or the American Cancer Society.
