From Jackson Michigan, passed away on Saturday January 17, 2015 at the age of 89. He was born on November 7, 1925, to Doris and Charles Wells in Tipton, Michigan. He married Stasia Marie (Bomba) Wells on January 8, 1946, and she preceded him in death on June 22nd, 2003. Jack was also preceded in death by his granddaughter-in-law Jennifer Lynn Powell (Bryan) Wells.

Jack is survived by his brothers Victor (Connie) Wells and Bill (Susan) Wells; and children Peggy (George) Freeman, Paul (Cindy) Wells, Philip (Ann) Wells, Mark (Laurie) Wells, and Sharon (Dean) Marks. Jack is also survived by grandchildren Kevin (Elise) Freeman, Jennifer (Greg) Wright, Christopher (Barbie) Wells, Apryle (Gregory) Pelshaw, Bryan Wells, Tina (Jeff) Holt, Patrick Wells, Dawn (Anthony) D'Alesandro, Markus Wells, Pauline (William) Bender, Matthew Wells, Michael Wells, Ryan Marks, Evan (Stephanie) Schweda, Bret Marks, Marissa Schweda; and several great grandchildren, two nieces and one nephew.

He truly was "Jack of all trades." Growing up as a farmer and truck driver, he achieved many medals and honors while serving as a Private First Class in the US Army Air Corps in WWII. Jack retired from Sears Roebuck as a service technician, and he went back to work there part time at 80 years old to work four more years as a tool technician.

Jack was a member of St. Mary's Church, the Knights of Columbus, American Legion Post 29, and the Jackson Outdoor Club. He was in the choir and made many friends at Arbor North Living Center, and he was an avid outdoorsman and canoeist; even building his own canoes.

Jack is at the Desnoyer Funeral Home where a Prayer Service will be held on Friday, January 23 at 1:00 PM followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church at 1:30 PM with Father Richard Eberle O.S.F.S. officiating. Interment at St. John's Catholic Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the Desnoyer Funeral Home on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM with a Rosary Service at 7 PM.

In lieu of flowers, contributions to St. Mary's Church would be appreciated.
