Lapinski (Smigielski), Irene B. —
Went to be with her husband, Michael E. Lapinski, the morning of June 24, 2010 at the age of 87. She was born on September 16, 1922 in Jackson, MI and enjoyed gardening, cooking, crossword puzzles, reading the Chicago Tribune and was the family matriarch and historian. She could also speak and write polish with ease. Preceding her in death were her mother (Alexandra) and father (Joseph) Smigielski, brother (Edwin) and sister (Jane Zawacki), survived by one son Michael J. Lapinski (Darlene) & children Anna, Brian & Cara; one daughter Sue Zonts & children Landon & Kelsey (David) with great grandson Haiden. Her favorite hairdresser is her niece, Eileen Kuprewicz (Smigielski) along with her many nieces, nephews, in-laws, cousins, best friend Nellie Necikowski and family friend Tom Zonts.
Irene is at the Desnoyer Funeral Home where the family will receive friends on Friday from 5–8 PM. The Mass of the Christian Burial will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Saturday at 10:00 AM. Private interment will be at St. John's Catholic Cemetery. Reverend Bob Pienta officiating.
Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the Southern Care Hospice of Jackson.
