Dillon, Howard W.
Born on January 13, 1932, age 84, passed away at home under Hospice care on Wednesday, February 17, 2016 surrounded by loved ones. Mr. Dillon (a.k.a Turk) was a lifelong member of St. John's Parish, was a proud Navy Veteran (USS John Hood) and Railroad retiree. He was preceded in death by first-wife Carol, daughter Betty Dillon, brother Bob Dillon, sister Joan Bennett (Jim). He is survived by his wife Phyllis, sons Dennis (Tina), Patrick (Amy), Michael O'Connell, daughters Michelle Capps, Dawn Waters (Scott) and Linda Presnell (James) of SC, brother Jim Dillon (Cathy), sister Dorothy Nichols (Harold), many cousins, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Mr. Dillon is at the Desnoyer Funeral Home where a Prayer Service will be held on Monday, February 22 at 12:30 PM followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church at 1:00 PM with Fr. James Shaver officiating. A luncheon to follow at St. John's Parish Center. In keeping with his wishes, Howard will be cremated and remains placed with Carol at St. John's Catholic Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the Desnoyer Funeral Home on Sunday from 4:00-8:00 PM with a Vigil Service at 6:00 PM.
Instead of flowers, the family invites you to make donations in memory of Howard to the Alzheimer's Research Fund, Allegiance Hospice of Jackson, or St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church.
