Burns, Howard J.
of Clark Lake died Monday, March 3, 2014 at the age of 88 years and was welcomed into Heaven by his beloved bride of 62 years, Shirley Burns and their eldest son, Patrick J. Burns. He is the dearest father of Deb Lyons, Christopher, Ann (Tom) Niebauer, Jack (Bonnie), and daughter in law, Suzanne. He is also survived by his ten grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by Shirley, Patrick, his parents, and his brothers; Jack, Bob, and Dick.
Howard attended St. Mary's High School and served in the United States Navy on the U.S.S. Wisconsin. Howard worked for Automotive Service Company, a family owned business, for many years. He was a member of Queen of the Miraculous Medal Church and later at St. Rita Parish of Clark Lake. Howard loved long walks, golfing with his best friends, pontoon boating, and golf cart rides. He was the most gracious host of many parties at his home with his family and friends.
Mr. Burns is at the Desnoyer Funeral Home where a prayer service will be held on Friday, March 7 at 10:00 AM followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church at 10:30 AM. Private interment at St. John's Catholic Cemetery. Rev. Msgr. Bernard Reilly will officiate at the Funeral Mass.
The family will receive friends at the Desnoyer Funeral Home on Thursday from 4:00 until 7:00 PM with a Vigil Service at 6:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Lumen Christi High School or to the Allegiance Hospice Home.
