Of Jackson, passed away on Friday, January 16, 2026 at 1:08 AM at the Henry Ford Jackson Hospital, surrounded his loving family and friends at the age of 66 years.  He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Erika; his children, Lawrence Garcia, Gregory Garcia, Kristianne (Brandon) Young, Cristal (Josh) Beck; Shantal Duarte, Erik Duarte, and Isabella Duarte; grandchildren, Elliott, Emery, Connor, and Sean; sister, Miriam (Ruben) Hernandez; his nephews, Brett Hernandez, Adrian Hernandez, Daniel Hernandez, and Stephen Hernandez; special friend, Gary Ambs as well as many friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Jesus and Isabel and his brother, Norman Duarte.

Hiram was born in El Paso, Texas and grew up in Los Angeles, California.  He was a United States Navy Veteran who served in the Panama Invasion and Operation Desert Storm.  He enjoyed traveling the world and the best Country he visited was England.  In the early 2000's, Hiram sold cars but he best became known for being "Chico the Burrito Man" selling burritos to the Jackson area for many years and officially retired in 2018.  He went on to work at Panda Express and Pool Hall as a cook. He also owned H&E Thrift Store in Jackson. Hiram loved golfing, fishing, the Los Angeles Dodgers, traveling and making new friends.  He also had a love for the Gospel and doing mission work.

Private Services have been held and celebration of Hiram's life will take place at a later date.
