Brogan, Herbert Taylor Sr.
Of Jackson passed away Saturday, February 25, 2012. He was born on November 9, 1917 to James and Helen Brogan. Herb was a life long resident of Jackson; the only exception was his four years of service in the United States Army during World War II including combat in New Guinea. In 1936 he graduated from St. Mary's High School. For 55 years he sold clothing at Furman's.
Herb was preceded in death by his wife Margaret Neubecker and his son David. Also preceding him in death were two brothers; Robert (Harriette) and James. Two sisters; Catherine (Edward) Lusty and Jane (Phil) Mitchell.
Surviving are his wife Mary (Heinzman/Doering), two sons; Herbert (Mary Pat) of Jackson and Michael (Michelle) of Eau Claire. One daughter; Margo of Kalamazoo. One step daughter; Karen (Phil) Drongowski of Saugatuck. Six grandchildren; Megan (Michael) O'Toole, Sean (Sarah), Shane (Colleen), Patrick, David and Kaley. Two step grandchildren; Julie (Rich) Timmer and Jeff Drongowski. Five great grandchildren and three step great grandchildren.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Queen of the Miraculous Medal Catholic Church on Monday at 10:30 AM. Interment St. John's Catholic Cemetery. Father Thomas Helfrich, O.S.F.S. will officiate at the Funeral Mass.
In lieu of flowers contributions to Lumen Christi High School or Lumen Christi Football would be appreciated.
The family will receive friends at the Desnoyer Funeral Home Sunday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM with a Rosary at 6:00 PM. The family will also receive friends at the Church on Monday from 10 to 10:30 AM.
