Wolverton, Harry W.
Of Jackson passed away at home on Thursday, August 28, 2025 age 99 years. He was born on April 18, 1926 in Pittsburgh, PA. He is survived by his children, Mark (Jan), David (Dorothea), Robert (Sarah), Rita Moore, Gordon (Silvia); 12 grandchildren, Timothy, Philip, Andrew, Mary, Emily, Paul, Sarah, Sean, Tina, Todd, Kristen and Emily; 14 great grandchildren, Victoria, Gabriella, Estelle, Cecilia, Langston, Brooks, Beckett, Hudson, Eli, Dylan, Hannah, Nora, Rafa, and Santi; sister in law, Phyllis Abinanti. Harry was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Jean.
Harry graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a B.S. Degree in Metallurgical Engineering in 1948. He was a Veteran of both the U.S. Army and the Navy. He had a very active church life at Queen of the Miraculous Medal Catholic Church where he was a lector, Eucharistic minister, Arimathean, scripture study leader and many other roles. He was known for his sharp wit, extensive and diverse knowledge, kind heart and his gracious and generous personality.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, September 3, 2025 at 10:30 AM at Queen of the Miraculous Medal Catholic Church. Father Timothy MacDonald will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Cremation and private interment of cremains will take place at St. John Catholic Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the Desnoyer Funeral Home on Tuesday, September 2 from 4 to 7 PM with a Rosary at 7:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Queen's Church.
