Harold Arthur Geiersbach, 90, of Jackson, was called Home Thursday, Aug. 7, one day after his 90th birthday. Harold was born Aug. 6, 1924 in Bay City, Mich., to Elizabeth and Clarence Geiersbach. He graduated from Bay City Central High School in 1942 and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He married Marilyn Ann Kelly on April 10, 1948. After completing a skilled trades apprenticeship at Jackson Junior College, he worked for many years at Jackson Die Company as a professional tool and die maker. He was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church for more than 70 years, serving as an Elder, usher, money counter and member of the Church Council. With his close friends Art Schuknecht and Bob Liechti, a trio affectionately dubbed "The Three Amigos," he devoted countless hours to the care and maintenance of Trinity's day school and church properties.

Harold will be remembered as a devoted husband, a loving father and grandfather, and a genuine friend to many. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Gerald, sister Lois and nephew Gerald. He is survived by his beloved wife of 66 years; daughters Carolyn Haire of Jackson, Jean (Mark) Paschke of DeWitt, and Joan (Gordon) Hauglie of Jackson; grandchildren Brian (Colleen) Lillie of Traverse City, Carin (Nick) Bristow of Jackson, Kevin Lillie of Jackson, and Sarah Paschke of Ann Arbor; and brother Clarence (Janet) of Jackson. Harold is also survived by five great-grandchildren, three nieces and two nephews.

Funeral services will take place 11 a.m. Tuesday at Trinity Lutheran Church, 122 W. Wesley St., Rev. Eric Ekong and Rev. Michael Hanson officiating with a private interment at Roseland Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church or Trinity Lutheran School.

The family would like to express its sincere gratitude to Kevin and Leigh Ganton and the entire staff at Arbor North Living Center, as well as Clint and Denise and the staff at Great Lakes Caring, for the loving care they provided Harold.

"For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal Life." (Harold's confirmation verse from the Gospel of St. John.)
