Harold H. Fischer was received into God's loving arms on Wednesday, August 22, 2012 at the age of 86. He is survived by Rowene, his wife of 64 years; daughter Becky (William R.) Jansen, grandsons, Will (Sarah) of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Mark (Rachel) of St Louis, Missouri, Jeff (Meg) of Raleigh, North Carolina and David of Indianapolis, Indiana; 3 great grandchildren (Maria, Morgan and Cooper); a sister (Ruth), sister- in law (Judy) and numerous nephews and nieces.
Harold retired from Consumers Energy Company in 1987 after over 40 years of distinguished service. He served his Country in World War II, seeing active naval duty in the Pacific theater. Harold was an active member of Queen of the Miraculous Medal parish and in many Consumers Energy Company Retiree groups, He will best be remembered for his perpetual smile, hearty laugh, firm handshake, humility, sense of humor, and, above all, his unceasing devotion to family and friends. Everyone who knew Harold became a better person for it, and everyone who was touched by Harold will never forget him. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that donations be made to the Queen's Rectory Restoration Fund.
The family will receive friends at the Desnoyer Funeral Home on Friday from 5–8 PM with a Rosary Service at 7:00 PM. Mass of the Christian Burial will be held on Saturday at 1:00 PM at Queen of the Miraculous Medal Catholic Church with Father Mathias Thelen as the celebrant. The family will also receive friends at the church, 12:30-1:00 PM.
