Norry, Glen C.

Passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at John Ganton Countryside Rehab Facility surrounded by family. He is preceded in death by his parents, Ada and Clayton Norry; brother Kenneth Norry and son Timothy Norry. Glen is survived by his loving wife of 65 years Elizabeth (Betty); three daughters, Pat (Rich) Rulewicz, Susan Oliver and Judy Richardson; two sons, Jim (Mary) Norry and John (Mary) Norry; 11 grandchildren, Nick and Trisha, Nate and Tracie, Leslie, Katie, Tyler, Trent, Elizabeth, Bennett and Jacob; 6 great-grandchildren, Caiden, Elsa, William, Henry, Tristan and Trey; and sister Gail Dama.

Glen married Betty (Lauzon) on May 5, 1951 in Windsor, Ontario. He worked at Ford Motor in Windsor until he was offered a position in Jackson at Ryerson & Haynes; he and Betty moved their family to Jackson in May of 1962. He also worked in production control and purchasing capacities at Hayes Albion, Bechtel Corporation and Miller Trucking, where he retired at the age of 65. Glen enjoyed bowling and golfing in his younger days and was a member of Knights of Columbus. He also was very proud of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thanks to Karen Hinkle, Dr. Yalavarthi and the staff at Countryside for their caring and compassionate work.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Queen of the Miraculous Medal Catholic Church on Saturday, March 4 at 1:00 PM with Father Timothy MacDonald officiating. Cremation will follow the Funeral Mass.

Mr. Norry is at the Desnoyer Funeral Home where the family will receive friends on Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM with a Vigil Service at 7:00 PM. The family will also receive friends at Queen's Church on Saturday from 12:30 to 1:00 PM.

Instead of flowers, memorial contributions to the American Lung Association or the American Diabetes Association would be appreciated.
