KENNEDY (TRAINOR), GERTRUDE

Of Clark Lake passed away under the loving care of her family and the staff at Spring Arbor Assisted Living on Thursday, January 21, 2010 age 90 years. Survived by her husband of 60 years Eldred "Bud". Seven children; Charles, Mary Kathleeen (Brad) Parker, Frances, John Eldred (Deceased), Annie (Jon) Pielemeier, Robert (Stephanie) and Tom Kennedy. Three grandchildren; Lillian (Stein) Ulmer, Amanda Shively, Mathea Pielemeier. Numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by three brothers and one sister. Gert graduated from St. Camilus School of Nursing at Borgess Medical Center in Kalamazoo. Her first nursing job was at U of M then worked at Alpena General Hospital. Gert served in the 3rd Auxiliary Surgical Unit for the United States Army during WWII doing battlefield surgery in Africa, Sicily, England, Belgium and France. She was a longtime member of St. Rita Catholic Church and the Clark Lake Yacht Club. She was a founding member of Birthline. Mrs. Kennedy is at the Desnoyer Funeral Home. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Rita Catholic Church, Clark Lake, Wednesday January 27, 2010 at 11:00 AM. Private Interment St. John's Catholic Cemetery. The Rev. Lehr Barkenquest, O.S.F.S. officiating.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM. and at the church Wednesday 10:30 to 11:00 AM. Vigil Service Tuesday at 7 PM.
