Strawderman, Gerry Lynn

Aged 77, passed away on October 9, 2023. She was a beloved mother, wife, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Lynn was born on July 9, 1946 in Petoskey, MI. She grew up in the Parma area, graduating from Western High School. After high school, she attended Western Michigan University where she met Jerry Strawderman, future husband of 57 years. The couple settled in Springport, Michigan where Lynn was a stay-at-home Mom for their 2 children as well as maintaining the homestead of a gigantic garden, pigs, rabbits, goats, turkeys, chickens and the occasional beef.

Lynn began working outside the home in 1983 as office clerk in a variety of roles and businesses. In 2002 her life was forever changed with the birth of her only grandchild, Gwen. Lynn always wanted to be the kind of Grandma her Mom was and she most definitely excelled in that role!

Lynn was preceded in death by her parents, Mabel M. Crance and Arden J.Crance. She is survived by her husband, Jerry Strawderman, children, Kent (Becki) Strawderman and Laura Strawderman, granddaughter, Gwen Magiera, brother, Arden (Victoria) Crance, sister, Mary Helen Pate and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Per Lynn's request, her body was gifted to the Michigan State University School of Medicine.
