Kwiatkowski, Gerald D. "Jerry Kwi"
of Horton, passed away at home under the loving care of his family on Friday, February 19, 2016 at the age of 67 years. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Diane; three children, Ryan (Francie) Kwiatkowski, Stacie (Steven) Scheidegger, Aaron (Courtney) Kwiatkowski; two grandchildren, Samuel & Catherine Scheidegger; several cousins, nieces and nephews. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, John Sr. and Agnes Kwiatkowski and his brother, John Kwiatkowski Jr.
Jerry was Captain, Navigator and Nav. Instructor in the US Air Force during the Vietnam War where he accomplished over 5000 mission miles. Jerry was a long time member of the American Legion. He was a materials manager in the automotive field for over 30 years. He then became the owner, president and financial aid administrator of the Hillsdale Beauty College for 14 years until his retirement. Jerry loved all sports, especially golf where he achieved 2 holes in one. He enjoyed reading and was especially proud of his Polish Heritage. He was a great lover of nature, feeding the birds and being outside with his faithful Chocolate Labrador, Kokomo. Jerry's greatest love was his wife, children and grandchildren and spending time with them. Boating and doing water sports with his family and taking his two grandchildren, Sam & Catie, on the lawn tractor, were some of his favorite ways to spend time with them.
According to his wishes cremation has taken place. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Stanislaus Kostka Catholic Church on Friday, February 26, 2016 at 11:00 AM with Father Thomas Helfrich O.S.F.S. as the celebrant. The family will receive friends at the Desnoyer Funeral Home on Thursday, February 25 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM with a Rosary Service at 7:30 PM. They will also receive friends at the church, prior to the Mass, from 10:00 to 11:00 AM.
The family suggests that, instead of sending flowers, please consider a memorial contribution to the Wounded Warrior Project or Allegiance Hospice.
