Dice, Gerald "Jerry" Eugene
age 81, a resident of Jackson, passed away at the home he built for his family under the loving care of his wife and daughter, while holding their hands on Saturday, October 23, 2021. Jerry was born in Hamtramck, MI and spent his childhood in Midland, MI. Jerry was the son of Pearl and Betty (Draves) Dice. In 1966, he married Beverly (Roberts) his wife of the past 55 years. Jerry was a hard worker doing the work he loved, from drywall to full house construction. He owned Jerry's Drywall for 56 years and Jerry's Home Maintenance and Repair until 2016. He never wanted to stop, even when his body demanded it. He had a strong-will for life. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and had a passion for finding and remodeling classic cars. He loved chatting and laughing with everyone he met, which led him to open Jerry's Westside Ice Cream in the late 1980's, talking to customers more than dipping ice cream. Jerry was incredibly gracious. He was always quick to help a neighbor plow their driveway when it snowed, or to buy a meal for a stranger or friend in need. He was a loving Dad, who would keep the car maintained, call to make sure his daughter arrived safely to work in good or bad weather, and ride along to help shop for the right car.  Jerry was a wonderful, beloved Grandpa that would spend many lunch breaks with grandkids, play on the floor, love them up with countless hugs and kisses, take them to and from school, give tractor/four-wheeler rides, attend soccer games and so much more that will forever be joyful memories.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Beverly, daughter, Leslie (Mike Czubko) Neubecker-Czubko of Jackson, MI, grandson, Nathan Neubecker of Holland, MI, granddaughter, Ashlyn Neubecker of Auburn Hills, MI and son, Clifford Dice, grandson Jordan (Jenn) Dice, granddaughter, Jaylie Dice, a great-granddaughter, Cheyenne Dice, sister, Marlene Overly, brother, Duane (Winnefred "Mickie") Dice, sister Wanda (Leon "Butch") Schneider, sister, Wilma (Bernard) Loranger, sister, Pat Dice, sisters-in-law, Barb Roberts, Marsha Roberts, Cindy (Kent) Slete, brother-in-law Kevin Roberts and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Pearl and Betty Dice, sister, Carol "Kay" Overly, brothers-in-law, Chuck Overly and Fred Overly and a beloved cousin (like a son) Kim Satterelli.

Special recognition goes to his wife and daughter, for years of loving care, Bailey, our emotional support puppy and a thank you to Thome PACE with special thank you to the many wonderful aides, nurses, therapists, chaplain and all staff that cared for him through his illness.

Pending improvement in the pandemic a celebration of life will occur mid-March 2022 close to Jerry's birth date.
