A lifelong resident of Jackson, MI passed away on Sunday, January 13, 2019 at the age of 80. Jerry graduated from St. Johns High School and then served proudly in the US Navy for 7 years. While in the Navy, Jerry reconnected with his high school sweetheart Margaret Graham. They were married at Queen of the Miraculous Medal Church and remained lifelong parishioners. After leaving the Navy, Jerry earned his Bachelors Degree and then a Masters from Eastern Michigan University.

Jerry was the Vice President of Human Resources at Foote Memorial Hospital. He was very proud of his work there, especially of his contributions to the merger of Foote and Mercy Hospitals, and the expansion of Foote Hospital in 1983.

Jerry was preceded in death by his wife Margie; his parents Gerald C. and Helen (Freck) Culhane and his brothers Harry and Donald Cutting. Jerry is survived by his sister Fran Woodring; his brothers, Kenneth Cutting and Harold Culhane; his children, Gerald (Julia) Culhane Jr., Margaret (Mark Adelson) Culhane, James (Soh Leng) Culhane, and Julie (Paul) Wakefield; grandchildren, Rick, Tristan, Amelia, Maya and Madeline; and great grandchildren, R.J., Jack, and Joey.

The family will receive friends at the Desnoyer Funeral Home on Friday, January 18, 2019 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 6:00 to 8:00 PM. A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jackson on Saturday, January 19 at 10:00 AM with Father Timothy MacDonald as the Celebrant. A private interment will take place at St. John's Catholic Cemetery at a later date.
