Louagie, Gerald Michael "Chip"
Went home to be with our Lord on June 1st, 2020. Chip was a 1989 graduate of Lumen Christi High School. He was preceded in death by his father, Gerald David Louagie (Jerry) and his grandparents Robert and Eva Cross, and Victor and Dorothy Louagie. He is survived by his mother Roberta Louagie, brother and sister in law, Robert and Paula Louagie and nephew Dominick and niece Danielle Louagie. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and close friends.
Chip was an avid University of Michigan fan and loved all things Maize and Blue. He enjoyed golfing and fishing. His friends and family were the most important thing to him. He had a great sense of humor and was generous to a fault. He would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need. He loved feeding people at his restaurant "Chip's Place" in the YMCA and spending time watching sports.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday, June 6, 2020 at 10am at St. Mary, Star of the Sea Catholic Church at 120 E. Wesley, Jackson Michigan with Reverend Tim Nelson officiating. Visitation will take place prior to the service and will begin at 9:00 AM. Internment will take place at St. John's Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Chip's memory to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation or the Jackson YMCA.
