Arend, Gerald A. "Jerry"

Of Jackson, passed away at home under the loving care of his family and Allegiance Hospice at the age of 86 years. Survived by his wife of 51 years, Helen; 3 children, Matthew (Kathy) Arend, Barbara Arend, and Susan Arend; 2 grandchildren, Jarod and Andrea; one brother, David (Sandy) Arend; sister, Mary Helen Potter; numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by one brother, Donald and sister, Virginia Freeman.

Jerry graduated from Michigan State University. He was an Army-Air Force Veteran. He retired from Kent-Moore (now SPX) after many years of service. Jerry was an avid golfer and very active in many community organizations.

According to his wishes cremation has taken place. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church on Friday, May 22, 2015 at 1:00 PM with Father James Shaver officiating.

The family will receive friends at the Church on Friday from 12-1 PM.

In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Jackson Interfaith Shelter, Allegiance Hospice, or the Salvation Army would be appreciated.
