of Jackson, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, December 6, 2018 at the age of 81 years. Survived by his four children, Denise (James) Wolcott, Dianna Van Vorst, Mike (Toni) Van Vorst, and Pam (Marty Kelly) Petress; five grandchildren, Jimmy and Tyler Petress, Nicole Wolcott, and Benjamin and Abby Van Vorst; and one sister, Pat (Jon) Hall. Preceded in death by his wife, Shirley; son-in-law, Jim Petress; and brother, Bill Van Vorst.

George was a United States Marine Veteran. He retired from Miller Tool & Die. His family, especially his grand kids, were the most important thing in his life.

Mr. Van Vorst is at the Desnoyer Funeral Home where a prayer service will be held on Tuesday, December 11, 2018 at 10:30 AM followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church at 11:00 AM with Fr. James Shaver officiating. Private interment will be held at St. John's Catholic Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the Desnoyer Funeral Home on Monday, December 10 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM with a Vigil Service at 6:00 PM.
