Of Jackson passed away Saturday, March 5, 2011 age 97 years. She was born September 21, 1913 to Robert and Margaret (Hickey) Garner of Bunkerhill. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Cecil J. Wallace and her second husband, M.H. Males. Two sons; Robert J. and Ronald D. Wallace. A grandson Richard J. Wallace and a special niece, Pauline Chlystek. Also preceded in death by brothers Bill, Elmer and Robert Garner. Sisters Vivalene Latimer, Wilhelmina Link, Agnes Edwards, Lillian Rose and Gladys Hoyer. Daughter in law Joyce Wallace. Step daughter and grandson, Twilla and Terry Talaga. Survived by daughter Jereune (Carl) Weber of Jackson, two sons; Richard C. (Bettie) Wallace of Titusville, Florida and Philip C. (Darlene) Wallace of Jackson. Daughters in law; Joy, Judy and Beverly Wallace and Elizabeth McClear. Twelve grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren and six great great grandchildren. Several nieces, nephews and step grandchildren. Genevieve graduated from Jackson High School. She spent many years working at the former Mercy Hospital. She was a member of the Woman's Club of Jackson and St. John Catholic Church. Genevieve enjoyed many summers at the family cottage at Pleasant Lake. Her home was always a gathering place and all were welcomed. She was a wonderful cook, pie baker and set a beautiful table. The family wishes to thank the staff at Arbor North Assisted Living, especially Kim, Debbie, Molly, Patty, Shari, Leigh and Kevin for the loving care she was given. Also greatly appreciated were the nurses from Great Lakes Hospice. Mrs. Males is at the Desnoyer Funeral Home where a prayer service will be held Thursday 9:30 AM followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church 10:00 AM. Father Robert Pienta officiating. Private interment Sts. Cornelius & Cyprian Cemetery, Bunkerhill.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM. Vigil Service Wednesday 6 PM.
