Jones, Gene R.

of Jackson, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, December 8, 2020 at the age of 78 years. He is survived by his daughter Debbie Jones Turner and son-in law Kevin Turner; son Gene Carl Jones, and daughter-in-law Julie Jones; grandchildren Antoinette Vega and grandson-in-law David Vega, Michael Turner and granddaughter-in-law Christin Turner, Gene Austin Jones and Jacob Anthony Jones; two great grand children, Isabella and Santino Vega; brother Tom and sisters Mary Lou and Pauline. He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Antoinette and two sons, David and Douglas.

Gene retired from General Motors after 30 years of service and he delivered newspapers for the Jackson Citizen Patriot. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking, and was loved by all who met him.

A celebration of his life will be held Monday, December 14, 2020 at 1:00 PM at Queen of the Miraculous Medal Catholic Church with Fr. Timothy MacDonald and Pastor Don Anderson officiating. The service will also be live streamed on Queen of the Miraculous Medal Catholic Church's Facebook page. Interment will follow at St. John's Catholic Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the church on Monday from 12:00 Noon to 1:00 PM.

Instead of sending flowers, contributions to Calvary Baptist Church or Queen's Church would be appreciated.
