Holland, Gary Eugene

Of Jackson, passed away at his home on Saturday, January 6, 2024 under the loving care of his family and the staff of Henry Ford Allegiance Hospice at the age of 79 years.  He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Barbara C. Holland; two daughters, Dawn (Finn) Dotson and Robin Nixon; grandchildren, Lindsey Dotson, Rachel (Salah Ali) Nixon, Chase Nixon, and Paige (Bryce Jacobs) Dotson; six great-grandchildren, Chasity, Alexis, Jayden, Sophia, Mason and Greysen; sister in law, Mary Lynn (Charlie) Tom; and numerous nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Leon and Barbara Holland; four sisters and one brother, Rosie Lowe, Marilyn Bing, Ed Holland, Dorothy Lapp, and Carol Aldridge.

Gary retired from the City of Jackson after 33 years.  He was a member of the Knights of Columbus St. Catherine Chapter.  And a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church.  Gary enjoyed golfing, fishing and hunting. His greatest love was his family.

According to his wishes, cremation has taken place.  The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, January 12 at 11:30 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church (due to remodeling at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church) with Father Chas Canoy officiating.

The family will receive friends at the Church on Friday, January 12 from 10:30 to 11:30 AM.

Contributions in Gary's memory can be made to St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church or the Henry Ford Hospice of Jackson.
