Farhat, Gary Edward,
Age 68, passed away Tuesday, September 28, 2021 with his wife and children by his side. He was a graduate of the University of Detroit Jesuit High School. He went on to receive his Bachelor of Science in Biology and Archeology from the University of Michigan and his Doctor of Medicine degree from St. Louis University. He retired this past March after 42 years with tremendous passion as an OBGYN. He loved his work, and most importantly the people involved. He had a special presence unlike anyone else.
He enjoyed gardening and found great joy in sharing his vegetables with family and friends. He had a beautiful rose garden that was a source of joy for him and his family. When he was not working or gardening he enjoyed golf, poker and spending time with his family who he loved deeply. He was preceded in death by his father, Edward Farhat. He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Shelly (Mantle); children, Amanda (Brad), Kimberlee (Jimmy), and Matthew (Meaghan); five grandchildren, Ethan, Harper, Harrison, Evelyn, and Isaac; mother, Elizabeth Farhat; sisters, Susan (William) and Janet (Mike); brother, David (Cheryl); and several nieces, nephews, extended family, and many special friends.
