Gary S. Custer passed away February 11, 2026 at the age of 73.
Surviving are his wife of 36 years, Sandra (Parker) Custer; his stepson, Joshua Jamrozy; grandchildren, Quinn and Ezra; his siblings, Diane Morandi, Darlene Custer, Butch Custer, Judy Hufford; and many nieces and nephew.
Gary was born February 6, 1953 in Sterling Height, Michigan. He was a talented, self-taught guitarist and songwriter, best known as the lead guitarist for the Detroit based band, Honey Boy, along with his brothers from another mother, Dave Stringer (drummer) William “RJ Pankow” (keys), Frank Munaco (Bass) and Daddy G (saxophone). Several of his original songs are available on YouTube in their Music section under Gary S Custer.
Gary was also an avid hunter and fisherman who enjoyed searching for wild mushrooms and other natural wild food.
A celebration of Gary's life is being planned and will take place in a few months.
