Gail Marie McGlynn (Hamula)

Gail, age 70 of Jackson, Michigan passed away peacefully on May 24th, 2026 in her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on January 7th, 1956 in Calgary, Alberta, Canada to Al & Lily Hamula, older sister Susan.

Gail closed her eyes to the world and opened them to God. Her life was rooted in faith, her heart led with generosity and compassion to all.

Gail centered her life around her family, finding her greatest joy in her husband, children, grandchildren, and her little dog Sammy. She always made sure her family knew how much she loved them.

Throughout her life she was a teacher in many ways. In her professional career, she taught at Jackson College for 30 years. Most recently, she was a group leader in her Walking With Purpose prayer group filled with faithful women who loved Gail dearly. She loved her childhood, having grown up in Canada, and had a great fondness for the mountains and Alberta grain elevators. 

She is survived by her husband Mike McGlynn; Her daughter, Alison McGlynn, son-in-law Charlie Ross and grandson Charlie Mead; Her daughter, Kristen McQuillan, son-in-law Matt McQuillan, grandson Brooks McQuillan and granddaughter Lily McQuillan; Her son, Joel McGlynn and daughter-in-law Claire Dailey; Her daughter, Lizzie McGlynn and Lizzie's boyfriend, Matt Grunditsch; Her sister Susan Low, brother-in-law Don Low and nephew Corey Low.

She was preceded in death by her parents Al & Lily, her nephew Eric Low, her father-in-law Charlie McGlynn and mother-in-law Jean McGlynn. 

The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, May 28, 2026 at 10:30 AM at Queen of the Miraculous Medal Catholic Church with Father Timothy MacDonald officiating. The Funeral Mass will be live-streamed on Queen of the Miraculous Medal Catholic Church’s Facebook Page. Interment will follow at St. John Catholic Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the Desnoyer Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 27 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM with a Rosary Service at 6:30 PM. The family will also receive friends at the Church on Thursday from 9:30 to 10:30 AM.
