FOSTER, FREDERICK D. "FRED"

Of Jackson passed away under the loving care of his family and the staff of the Allegiance Hospice Home on Monday, December 10, 2012 age 86 years. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Rita J. (Kramer); one brother, John (Dixie) Foster, sister-in-law, Jerrine Foster, brother-in-law, Paul (Mary Lou) Scott, sister-in-law, Betty Kramer, and over 200 nieces, nephews. Fred was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Myrtle (Sunkle) Foster, three brothers, Bill, Bob and Jim Foster, and one baby sister, at birth.

Fred was considered by many of his nieces and nephews to be a father-figure, grandfather, mentor, confidant, teacher and friend. His many hobbies over the years included hunting, fishing, raising tropical fish, photography, car radio repair, watch and clock repair, jewelry making and gardening. He was a member of the Jackson Outdoor Sportsman Club, drove for Yellow Cab, and was a certified auto mechanic and worked as both mechanic and service manager at many of the car dealerships in Jackson .

Mr. Foster is at the Desnoyer Funeral Home where a prayer service will be held on Friday at 10:00 AM followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at St Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church at 10:30 AM. Interment will follow at St. John's Cemetery. Fr. Tim Nelson will officiate at the Funeral Mass.

In lieu of flowers, the family request contributions made to the St. Mary's Church or the Allegiance Hospice Home.

The family will receive friends at the Desnoyer Funeral Home on Thursday from 5 to 8 PM with a Vigil Service at 7 PM.
