Franklin Richard Klavon of Jackson, passed away on Thursday, February 1, 2024, aged 63 years. He is survived by his son Hughie; ex-wife Katrina Klavon; mother Sylvia Nelson (Doug); three brothers, Raymond (Tammy), Patrick, Michael, sister Christine Estry (James); four stepchildren: Dusty Bos, Teanna Black, Anna Loveless, Jake Jessup; fifteen grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and one great niece; his companion Catherine Leggieri; and Hughie's mother, Debbie McDonald. He was preceded in death by his father, Theodore Klavon.
Frank was a graduate of Lumen Christi High School, Michigan Technological University (BS in Geological Engineering) and the University of Michigan (MS in Mechanical Engineering), and was a former member of St. Joseph and Queen of the Miraculous Medal Parishes. He was an exceptionally talented musician, founder of the band Bubba Grey and played multiple instruments including guitar, bass guitar, drums and harmonica. His recorded music and videos are available on multiple CDs, Spotify, YouTube (youtube.com/@BUBBA-GREY), Instagram and Facebook.
Frank was a creative, accomplished author and published both novels and short stories. His short stories are available at franklinklavon.com and redfez.net/@bubbagrey; his latest novel, Rockstars of the Goons, will be available on Amazon and goodread. He was punctual, deep, thoughtful, and provided so much good insight to others. He planned things carefully, stuck to his plans, but was also open to suggestions from others.
Frank had a calm, patient demeanor and impacted many lives with his personal philosophy of life. His favorite book was The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle. Frank was a great father and provided his children, stepchildren and grandchildren with broad perspectives of life. His main message was to be grateful and stay in the present. He was a beloved, honorable man, hard worker, great family man, great listener, great friend and very understanding.
He was very spiritual and meditated daily. Frank loved playing games and sports with his children and grandchildren, had a terrific sense of humor and was an exceptional chess player. He was employed in the oil exploration and machine design industries working for multiple companies in Michigan, Tennessee, West Virginia and South Carolina. Frank enjoyed travel and went on many family vacations around the United States. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed camping, walks and bird watching.
Frank will always remain in our hearts-- stay tuned for more artistic releases from Bubba Grey…
