Frank A. Pratt IV, age 84 of Jackson, Michigan passed away peacefully at this home. Frank was born in Urbana, Il. to Frank S. Pratt III and Eunice (Anderson) Pratt, both deceased. He was raised in Fairbury, Il, and after high school, worked briefly for the Illinois Central Railroad. After enlisting in the US Army where he received an honorable discharge, he graduated from Southern Illinois University, then worked for the South Dakota Games, Fish and Park Dept. He relocated to Nebraska and worked for the University of Nebraska Motion Picture Section , Lincoln where his love of U of N football grew and remained steadfast throughout his life. After earning a master's degree, he worked for the Nebraska Dept. of Economic Development followed by the Elgin (Il) Area Chamber of Commerce and finally moved to Jackson, Michigan where he worked at the Jackson Alliance for Business Development. After retirement, he became a real estate agent.
Frank was an honorable man who valued his friends, enjoyed life with humor and creativity. He was an accomplished photographer who saw and shared God's wonders through the lens of his camera. He will be greatly missed.
Frank's loving presence will be greatly missed by his wife, Carolyn, son Frank A. V and sister, Worth Krenytzky as well as stepchildren: Shelly Paullin, John (Rosette – Cael and Rachael) Paullin, Sandra Paullin (Ryan) Schultz, Christopher, Edward and Michael McClafferty. He was blessed with grandson, Frank C VI (Veronica) as well as grandchildren Charles, Robert (Carabeth), Phillip (Carolyn and great-granddaughter Alice), and Mary (Jared) Marquart, in addition to a cherished niece, nephews and many cousins. Frank also adopted, loved and nurtured three children, Mark, Christopher and Dana Pratt, all deceased.
On Thursday, February 10, 2022, a Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church, 120 E. Wesley St. at 10:00 am with Father Timothy Nelson officiating. The service will be live streamed on St. Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church's Facebook Page. Family will receive friends one-half hour before the service. Per his request, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Frank's Life will be held this summer.
If desired, memorial contribution can be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation or Henry Ford Allegiance Hospice.
