Freundl, Frank X. Jr.

83, of Jackson passed away peacefully on November 7, 2013 after a brief illness. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Mary Teresa (Dailey)Freundl; his daughters Kathleen (Carl) Shelton of Northport, MI, Carol (Barry) Hintz of Lansing, Diane (Steve) Wolcott of East Lansing, and Patricia (Theresa Gardner) Freundl of Traverse City; daughter-in-law Patty Freundl; grandchildren, Carrie (Erin Thoresen) Hintz, Valerie Hintz, Blake (Delaney)Hintz, Paul Wolcott, Patrick Wolcott, Ellie Wolcott and Adrien Freundl and great grandchild, Declan Edward Hintz. He was preceded in death by his son, Edward Freundl earlier this year and his parents Frank and Stephania Freundl. He is also survived by his siblings, Raymond (Dee) Freundl, Pat (Bob) Drouin , and James (Marge) Freundl and several nieces and nephews.

Frank was born in Jackson County where he lived his entire life. He graduated from St. Johns High School, served our country as a member of the Army during the Korean conflict. Frank was an accomplished tool and die maker and owned and operated his own business, Edwards Machine, for several years. He was a past member of the Loyal Order of Moose and Jackson Sportsman Club. Frank enjoyed living at the lake and was always busy working on some project around the house. Fixing things and modifying things gave him great pleasure. Frank loved to tell stories and share experiences of his life. He will always be remembered for his love of polka music and German festivals. He was happiest when surrounded by family, celebrating holidays or just spending a day holding court on the gazebo. He will be missed by all of those who were close to him.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, November 12, 2013 at 11:00 AM at St. Rita Catholic Church, 10720 Hayes Rd, Clarklake, where he was a member for over 30 years. Father Tom Helfrich, O.S.F.S. will officiate at the Funeral Mass. An interment service will be held in the chapel of St. John's Catholic Cemetery on Tuesday at 2:30 PM.

The family will receive friends at the Desnoyer Funeral Home on Monday, November 11, 2013 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM with a rosary to be said in his honor at 7:00 PM. The family will also receive friends at the Church on Tuesday from 10:30 to 11:00 AM.

Special thanks to the caring staff at Allegiance Hospice Home for making his final hours peaceful and comfortable. Memorial gifts may be made to St. Rita Catholic Church, Lumen Christi High School or the Allegiance Hospice Home in Frank's name.
