Frank Barrett
of Jackson, passed away in the presence of his loving family on Monday, June 2, 2014 at the age of 85 years. He is survived by his wife, and best friend of 61 years, Jeanne. He was preceded in death by his son, Paul and survived by nine children, Patrick, Michael (Deb), Kathy (John) Walker, Frank Jr. (Cindy), Teresa (Kris) Kloack, Laurie (Mark) Harris, Joe (Karen), Pete (Kim), Andy (Tammy); 30 grandchildren; 36 great grandchildren; one brother, John (Nola) Barrett. Frank was preceded in death by his sister, Ginny Nelson. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Frank will be remembered as a great husband, dad, grandfather and great grandfather who supported his children in all their endeavors. Most of all, Frank will be remembered as a man of great faith and a true gentleman. He served his country in the US Navy, retired from Consumer Power after over 35 years of service and was Blackman Township Supervisor and Treasurer for many years. Frank was also a volunteer for many local organizations.
Mass of the Christian Burial will be held on Friday, June 6, at St. John Catholic Church at 11:00 AM. Father James Shaver will be the celebrant at the Funeral Mass.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 5, from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the Desnoyer Funeral Home, with a Rosary Service at 6:30 PM.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to SouthernCare Hospice, St. John Catholic Church or the Jackson Interfaith Shelter.
