Lowe, Frances Suzzanne "Fran"
of Jackson, passed away on Wednesday, May 11, 2022 under the loving care of her family and the staff at the Henry Ford Hospice Home at the age of 84 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Michael & Dorothy Glisky, husband Dennis Lowe and the father of her children, Neil Crandall. She is survived by her children Carrie Mueller, Julianna (Kelly) Rose, David (Mary Elizabeth) Crandall, Matthew (Lisa) Crandall, Michael (Teresa) Crandall, Sarah (Jamie) Stevenson, Suzzanne (Larry) Sinkovitz, her two sisters Sr. Jeanne M Glisky SFP and Michelene A. (Gary) Crisp.
Fran was born March 24, 1938 in Le Sueur, Minnesota. Fran, as she was known by friends and neighbors, was loved by many. As a young woman in the 1950s she worked as a telephone operator for Michigan Bell. In the 1960s after having her first set of twins, Fran founded a "Mothers of Twins" group in both Pontiac and Jackson, Michigan. She would have a second set of twins five years later! In the 70s, as Fran raised her 7 children, she found time to teach yoga for the YMCA and volunteer for welcome wagons and food drives. Her children remember her bringing home many a lone stranger to celebrate our family Christmas holidays! In the 80s Fran became a full time Grandmother and eventually a Great Grandmother. She was always proud of her children but was especially proud of having the two sets of twins.
Fran was an avid reader and was proud of her extensive library. Children and grandchildren alike were always welcome to borrow titles. She continued her pursuit of learning through education throughout her life. Fran leaves a grand legacy of 7 children, 16 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren with two more expected within the next 4 months, a nephew, great-nephew and great-niece.
According to her wishes, cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held at the Desnoyer Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 17, 2022 at 12:00 Noon until a Prayer Service at 1:00 PM with Fr. James Shaver and Fr. Todd Koenigknecht officiating. A private burial at St. John Cemetery following the service.
In lieu of flowers please consider offering a prayer in her honor, or a donation to Lifeways of Jackson, MI.
