Fr. Eder was preceded in death by his father, Louis, mother Lucille, and brother George. He is survived by his sister-in-law, Doylene Eder. Nephews; Daniel (Kati) Eder, James Eder, and Stephen (Sue) Eder. Nieces; Teres (Burt) Richardson, Mary Ann Eder and Sheila Eder. Great nephews, Clayton Richardson, Kent Richardson, Samuel Eder and Scott Eder. Great niece, Sydney Eder. The family also wishes to recognize and thank his close friend and caregiver, Darlene Stecco.

Fr Eder was ordained June 5, 1954 by Bishop Joseph Albers after attending the Sacred Heart Seminary in Detroit. He also attended the Theological Seminary at St. John Provincial Seminary in Plymouth, MI. He had several Pastoral Assignments beginning at St. Thomas Aquinas Parish in East Lansing, MI, St. Joseph Parish in St. Johns, MI, St. Gerard Parish in Lansing, MI., St Anthony of Padua Parish in Hillsdale, MI and St. Luke Parish in Flint, MI. His other Appointments included; Director of Communications for the Diocese of Lansing from 1973 to 1992 where he produced and directed the television show, "Real to Reel", Director of Communications for the Diocese of Saginaw, Planning Director of Genesee Catholic Schools from 1972 to 1973, Associate Superintendent of Catholic Schools from 1960 to 1964 and Secretary to the Bishop from 1959 to 1960. In his retirement, Fr. Eder was a visiting priest at St. Leo's Church in Flint and St. John's Church in Hartland.

The family will receive friends at the Desnoyer Funeral Home on Monday evening from 4:00 to 7:00 PM, and on Tuesday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 PM with Rosary Service at 7:00 PM. There will also be visitation at Queen of the Miraculous Medal Catholic Church on Wednesday from 10:00 to 10:30 AM.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday at 10:30 AM at Queen of the Miraculous Medal Catholic Church. The Most Rev. Earl Boyea, Bishop of Lansing and Fr. Phil Schmitter will be the celebrants at the Mass. Interment will be at St. John's Catholic Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Lumen Christi High School or the charity of your choice.
