BRININSTOOL, FORREST W.
Passed away peacefully Wednesday, October 14, 2009, at the age of 93 years. He was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Geraldine (Jenkins) Brininstool; Sisters Genevieve and Mary Lou; and brothers Gerald, Donald and Ralph. Survived by one daughter; Karen (Tom) Gazella; two sons; William (Chris) and David (Ann). Six grandchildren; Beth, Joey, Andy, Mark, Lisa and Andrew, two sisters, Betty Bretes and Maxine Bones; and special honorary daughter Melody (Bruce) Chapman. Born in Waterloo in 1916, Forrie was raised and lived in Jackson nearly 90 years, moving to St. Joseph near his daughter in 2005. A graduate of Jackson High School, he worked as a tool and die maker and supervisor at Teer-Wickwire for 48 years. He was also co-owner of Jenkins Ayrshire Dairy with his brother-in-law, Lynn Jenkins for 30 years. During WWII he served as a flight engineer on a B-24 bomber in the 491st Bomb Group, Army Air Corp. He was shot down and seriously wounded over Hanover, Germany, surviving 10 months as a POW. Truly a member of the Great Generation, he was generous and kind, and loved and respected by his family and friends. Mr. Brininstool is at the Desnoyer Funeral Home where services will be held Saturday, October 17th at 1:30 PM. Private Interment Hillcrest Memorial Park. The Rev. Robert V. Marston officiating.
