Macchia, Fannie Lee
Of Jackson, Michigan formerly of Punta Gorda, Florida passed away on November 4, 2023 at the age of 82.
Fannie was born to the late Guy Wasson and Clema Margaret Edwards on November 19, 1940 in Leachville, Arkansas. She graduated from Leachville High School in 1958.
She is survived by her sons, Chris (Tanya) Lingo of Jackson, Michigan, Curt (Sheila) Lingo of Jackson, Michigan and stepson, Tony Macchia of Jackson, Michigan.
Fannie loved her grandchildren, Sam, Alexis, Justin, Mason and great grandson Matteo as well as many nieces and nephews.
Fannie loved life, her faith and everyone she met. Always an encouraging word. She graduated from Cosmetology school and worked for many years in Parma, Michigan making lifelong friends and so many memories during her career.
She enjoyed traveling with her beloved husband, Joe and all the memories they made throughout their 38 years together.
The 20 plus years spent living in Punta Gorda, Florida with Joe at the Colony were special to her making many lifelong friendships.
Her love of animals played a big part in her life. The dogs she babysat and loved were countless.
Her love of sports was evident in all the sporting events she attended and provided help while raising her sons. She especially loved watching football and basketball.
Fannie's favorite music was always Elvis Presley and there was no second place. She first saw him play at her High School gym and that was it.
She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph A. Macchia; parents Guy Wasson and Clema Margaret Edwards; siblings Guy, Billie Ruth and Nina.
She will be missed but leaves a legacy of love and friendship to all that knew her.
