Schmidt, Evelyn Marie

of Jackson, passed away on Sunday, August 12, 2018 under the loving care of her family and the staff at the Henry Ford Allegiance Hospice Home at the age of 72 years. She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Clifford W. Schmidt; one son, William Frederick (Annette Marie) Schmidt; one daughter, Julie Marie (Michel Paul) Rossey; three grandchildren, Isabella Marie Rossey, Alexander Paul Rossey, and Emma Marie Schmidt; one brother, Robert (Gail) McDonald; two sisters, Ruth (Charles) Johnson and Kathleen Kearney; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Lucille McDonald; five brothers, Jim, John, Dick, Jerry, and Bill McDonald; and two sisters, Mary Worley and Marge Stickney.

Evelyn was a graduate of JCC in 1982 with a Nursing Degree and worked as a Surgical Nurse at Mercy Hospital and then at W.A. Foote Hospital. She was an avid golfer and enjoyed gardening and traveling with her husband and friends. She also loved spending time with her children and three special grandchildren.

According to her wishes, cremation has taken place. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, August 25, 2018 at 10:30 AM at Queen of the Miraculous Medal Catholic Church with Fr. Timothy MacDonald officiating.

The family will receive friends at the Desnoyer Funeral Home on Friday, August 24 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM with a Rosary Service at 7:00 PM.
